About this itinerary

Start with two nights at the opulent Kempinski hotel in Nairobi and visit two of the most respected wildlife conservation centres in Africa.

Board a light aircraft for a thrilling flight over the beautiful Great Rift Valley, landing at an airstrip close to your luxury safari camp. You'll spend the next four nights in the hands of highly trained game rangers as you head off in search of the bewildering array of wildlife supported by this incredible land.

Finally, after many unforgettable wildlife encounters you'll board another light aircraft to the coast where white sands, decadent dining and sensational service await, all in the setting of an intimate boutique resort.

day 1-2 Nairobi National Park

Arrive in Nairobi, the start point for your Safari Honeymoon. More than just a rest stop, with markets museums and a number of culinary experiences in the city, while just outside the countries top wildlife sanctuaries will give you a chance to contribute to some important conservation projects. On Day 2 meet your local guide at your hotel and spend most of the morning visiting the Giraffe Centre to see Rothschild Giraffes and the Daphne Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage before enjoying lunch at the popular Carnivore restaurant.

Spend the afternoon back at the hotel or you can continue touring in Nairobi. The Karen Blixen Museum, just 7 miles outside of Nairobi is yet another interesting site to visit. This is the former home of Danish author Karen Blixen (Author of Out of Africa).

day 3-6 Olare Motorogi Conservancy

Your safari begins in earnest with a transfer to Nairobi Wilson airport for your flight to the Masai Mara. Light aircraft fly at significantly lower altitudes than commercial jets which make the views as you pass over the great rift valley and the plains of the Masai Mara an experience in itself. On arrival at the airstrip, you will be met by a driver from your camp who will drive you through bushland and open savannah to your lodge. Spend the next three days exploring the rivers and savannah and spotting game on your included morning and afternoon game drives During the heat of the day when the wildlife is less active you can relax by the pool or indulge in a spa treatment.

Alternatively you could book an optional excursion with the lodge such as a bush walk or a Masai cultural visit.

You could also opt to replace a morning game drive with a magical hot air balloon experience. Rising early to arrive at the launch zone for sunrise you'll start low and slow at not much higher than tree top height, looking for wildlife beneath you. After a while your pilot will ignite the burners and send the balloon soaring upwards for some the most amazing views of the wilderness. After landing, you will be treated to a glass of champagne before being driven to a breakfast spot in the middle of the bush.

day 7-13 Diani Beach

Say goodbye to the Masai Mara as you make your way back to the airstrip to board your flight to Ukunda.

Enjoy the views once more from the window of the light aircraft. On a clear day, you may even spot Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest peak in Africa.

On arrival at Ukunda airport you will be met for your short transfer to your luxury boutique hotel on the beach.

Spend your days relaxing and enjoying the warm waters of the Indian Ocean, the culinary delights from the restaurant and the attentive service of your hosts.

The resort also offers an range of activities (many included, some at additional cost), including gym, yoga, watersports, horse-riding on the beach, cultural visits and luxury boat excursions.

Bid a fond farewell to this beautiful country before returning to the airport for your onward flight.
