tailor made Africa holidays Vast stretches of plains & plateaus

A land of contrasts, this East African country boasts vast stretches of plains and plateaus, volcanic calderas, pristine beaches, enormous lakes and the highest mountain in Africa (Mt Kilimanjaro). Add to this the friendly and welcoming people, and, of course, the incredible wildlife in the numerous national parks and conservation areas throughout the country, and you have a destination that is not to be missed.

The famous Serengeti is all but obligatory as a destination on a Tanzania safari, with it’s vast open plains and bewildering numbers and variety of wildlife, not to mention the Great Migration, the perilous yearly journey taken on by close to 2 million wildebeest and zebra.

The Ngorongoro Crater, with views from the top no camera can do justice and Tarangire, with its large ‘big tusker’ elephant population, and famous baobab trees, round off the safari experience in the north.

magical experiences Diverse wildlife & breath-taking islands

The Southern circuit, comprising Nyerere (formerly Selous) and Ruaha (and the Udzungwa Mountains if you like hiking) are fast becoming known for their lower visitor numbers and diverse activities on offer. Dependant on your chosen lodge, in addition to traditional game drives you may be offered boat safari’s, walking safari’s, night drives, fishing and magical sleep out experiences.

Even further afield you have the difficult to reach but stunning Katavi National park, and for primates, the Mahale Mountains. For perhaps the best chimpanzee experience a stay on the magical Rubondo Island is a must.

For the perfect way to round off your trip to Tanzania, the beaches on the islands of Zanzibar, Pemba or Mafia are not to be missed. From the narrow alleys and spice markets of Stonetown, to the powder white sand beaches of Nungwe, mangrove forests, marine nature reserves and breath-taking sunsets, these islands have everything you could want or need for some post safari indulgence.
